There are plenty of websites that pay you on the performance of your articles or simple flat rate straight up payments. Some are better than others but I’m going to talk about what I believe is the best one and most certainly has the best community.

I’ve wrote at a lot of places but I’ve start writing at HubPages the last month are so and it’s the best place I have found so far, unlike most places they drive traffic to your Hubs so until you get indexed on Google etc you will still receive some traffic, there are plenty of Hubs for newcomers explaining all types of subjects from How to earn more to how to make apple pie!

When you’ve signed up and wrote a few Hubs you’re going to want to promote your hubs, the best way of doing this is simply maintaining a presence on the forums, commenting on other peoples hubs etc. and when people start to see you around often they will soon check your hubs out and become a fan of yours, it’s generally easy to get fans if you’re writing good material, basically if you’re someones fan, you’ll see all their newly uploaded content on your front page to review.

You receive 60% of the revenue whilst they receive 40%, it can take a while to start earning real money so don’t come here with the intentions of earning big fast because it doesn’t happen like that. You need to enjoy writing hubs and earning has to be a nice bonus.

Also when promoting your hubs don’t be overly-promotional and don’t write over-promotional hubs, your hubs are going to be informational for other users not beneficial for you!

You may also be interesting in Squidoo it’s similiar to Hubpages with one difference, you have the option of submitting your earnings to a list of sponsored charities or one of your own charities, I think around 60% of Squidoo users do this but ofcourse you also have the option of keeping your revenue I haven’t tested Squidoo out too much yet but on HubPages there’s an affiliate program that allows you to advertise other peoples hub whilst earning a certain percentage of their revenue (I think it’s 12% or 10% if they already have a referral advertising their hub)

HubPages is also a an excellent place to build traffic to your website, blog or to gain affiliates. I personally wrote a Hub about an offer I tought was good and gained five extra affiliates within a week and now that the Hub is starting the picking up the affiliates are starting to come in daily!

If you’re interested in writing articles to sell for a flat-rate one time fee you may want to try Associatedarticles.com, they offer the option of selling your article for a one time fee or a performance based option in which you gain revenue on the amount of people that visit your article, it’s pretty much straight forward but if you are a first time writer or new writer I would recommend HubPages or atleast Squidoo. HubPages is better for beginners due to the helpful community.
